Anyway, every year I like to honor my father on his birthday and this year I have read one of my favorite Gary Halbert Letters into a digital recorder and added some valuable commentary on the letter and the lessons in it.

You see, my father although a great dad and friend, loved to rib everyone, give nicknames and just mess with people for no apparent reason.
Since he isn’t here to poke fun at me, I’ll do it for him.
While living in Florida all of us started giving each other Indian style names to describe our faults and why not… we are part Indian and we have many faults.
There was “Dumb Like Rock”…“Hair Like Woman”…”Chief Running Mouth”…“Drunk Like Circus Clown” and mine was………… “Voice Like Little Girl.”
The reason for this is that on the phone my voice really does sound like a woman’s voice. When I call information they always say here is your number ma’am.
When I pick up my mom’s phone, her friends start telling me gossip because they think she picked up the phone. One time my wife laughed her head off when I put on my deepest voice just to pick up her phone. She knew I was hamming it up and trying to avoid confusion.
So as you can imagine, I hate making any kind of audio recordings.
But since it is pop’s birthday, I decided I would honor him and make myself a little uncomfortable as he always liked it.
Now obviously I have enough self esteem not to torture myself by recording a lot of the letters so what I decided to do was…
